Garage Extension

Garage extensions

The picture is of a Boarshurst garage extension. A garage is a natural extension to a home as it serves not only as the storage space for a car, but also as an additional storage space for garden tools, equipment, frezers, etc.

The garage has been built so that it is integral to the house and so maintains access to the rear of the property via a paved side path.

Garage Access

Integral garages tend to be more convenient than detached because a connecting door is built in to the original house wall.

Integral garages tend to require ceiling insulation to retain heat, and finishing to maintain aesthetics.

Garage Doors

The garage door is a modern, lockable, up-and-over, sliding, plastic coated metal door.

We have many garage door designs, sizes and materials available for you to chose from and have installed.

If you require a high security garage door lock for metal doors we recommend Slimlock.

We can install canopy mechanisms where the door runs on vertical tracks in the side frame. When fully open the door forms a canopy that extends outwards from the garage front.

Retractable mechanisms, which are also suited to automation, run on horizontal tracks inside the garage. When the door is fully opened it is also fully retracted.

Garage Structure

The garage walls and floor have been built and laid on solid foundations. The concrete floor is slightly elevated and sloping to ensure any drainage goes outside.

Existing pipe work has been accommodated and the garage is serviced with power.

The garage roof is solidly constructed with eves and drainage overlapping the brick work to protect from water damage.

Paved Driveway

A new driveway has been laid in cobble effect blocks. We install many varieties of block paving for driveways and patios. Ask us about our 45 degree and 90 degree herringbone designs, natural stone driveways in granite and limestone.

All building work, roof insulation, plumbing, guttering and electrical wiring complies with building regulations.
